Hunter Richards Has The Right Stuff

12 09 2011

Most race car fans look at stock car racing as simply a sport.  We congregate at the race track to cheer for our favorite driver, hoping he pulls off a win.  But there is more to the sport than just speeding the down track with your hair on fire, to use a figure of speech.

Race car driving takes a special breed of man. An individual who is willing to risk everything to be ahead of the pack. A man who will push the pedal to the metal, testing the limits of not only only his vehicle, but of his courage. Hunter Richards, still just a boy, has already achieved more in one season than what some drivers achieve in a lifetime of racing.

Hunter Richards, who is sponsored by Sea Systems Group, has been racking up first and second place finishes in most of his races this season in the Bandolero division. Hunter is second in overall points, and has the opportunity to move to first if he continues his winning ways. Hunter has shown superb racing skills, while maintaining a level of discipline that very few drivers in his age group have.

When we were growing up, we dreamed of being professional athletes, astronauts, firemen, and yes, race car drivers. Hunter is living out his dream in grand fashion.  There is a saying that people use to describe those with the guts to do things very few of us will do. A breed of risk takers and daredevils who live off of danger, the right stuff. Hunter falls into that same breed. Hunter has the right stuff.

America’s Obession With Fitness

7 09 2011

Getting physically fit has become a national obsession for millions of Americans who are looking to shed unwanted fat and get in shape.  The fitness industry, which includes gyms, personal trainers, and nutritionists, brings in on average over 21 billion dollars a year.

In gyms across the country, Americans are spending more time in the gym lifting weights and doing intense cardio workouts in the quest for the perfect beach body. But is all this exercising necessary?  Over-training, which is when you train your body past it’s ability to adequately recover from strenuous exercise, is common amongst fitness enthusiasts who workout constantly without ample recovery time.

Marathon runners, who run several miles a day or more, are also susceptible to over-training,which can eventually lead to joint and lower back pain as well as illness since the bodies immune system can be weakened as a result of chonic cardio.

MitiGator shoe insoles and it’s various applications can help protect athletes from the rigors of intense training regiments.  However athletes need to take a hard look at their own training regiments to see if what they are doing is actually beneficial to their health. It’s easy to think that by training more, you’re fitness levels will drastically improve. The opposite can actually occur.

By over-training your muscles, you will only hamper any chance of muscle growth because muscle growth happens when your resting, not when lifting weights.  If you feel tired and just don’t want to exercise, than don’t. Most likely that is your body telling you that you need a break, so take one!

The MitiGator™ Technology is an engineered cushioning system designed to protect people and equipment from these assaults and to allow them to continue to perform their jobs or enjoy their leisure time. The MitiGator™ uses patented air control technology working with over 4,000 surfaces per square foot to dissipate energy before it is transmitted to the body and thus help alleviate the problems. Hunter Wins Again!

29 08 2011

Two weeks ago Hunter got his first win of the season in a Heat and Feature double-header. Hunter is continuing is winning ways taking first place in last Friday’s Heat and Feature races at Concord Motorsports Park.

The Heat race was a straightforward win for Hunter as he maintained the lead throughout most of the race. In the Feature race, Hunter had some competition has he had to battle a hard charger for the lead. Hunter fell to third place with only two laps to go before the two lead cards collided and spun out, giving Hunter another first place finish.

It was a clean sweep for Hunter at CMP.  Hunter has been unstoppable the past few races. He looks to extend his winning streak in next weeks Heat and Feature races. Hunter’s co-sponsor, Seas Group, is proud of his great accomplishments. We look forward to seeing Hunter win future races.

23 08 2011

Last week Hunter Richards got his first victory of the season during Thursday and Fridays double-header. On Thursdays Heat race Hunter started off in the back of the pack.  Once the race got under way Hunter managed to battle his way to the lead before he spun out.

Hunter’s streak continued in the Feature race as he dominated right from the drop of the green.  It was no contest for Hunter, blowing away the competition with his second first place finish for the evening.

It was my turn to win tonight.”  Hunter, who is co-sponsored by Mitigator, a cushioning system designed by Sea Systems Group, has had great support from his sponsors and racing team throughout the season. Hunter Richards Finishes Second At Concord Motor Speed Way

15 08 2011

After getting into a nasty wreck in his last race Hunter Richards got back on course finishing second in his Heat and Feature races at Concord Motor Speed Way.

During his practice laps Hunter felt that the car was faster than usual giving him a good vibe to start off both races. In the Heat race Hunter started off in the sixth spot but was able to move his way up to second challenging the lead before he ran out of laps placing second.

In his Feature Race Hunter began in the third sport but quickly gained on the leader as the two were neck and neck for about five laps.  The third place car was all over Hunter’s bumper making the race extremely tight as Hunter along with the first and third place cars approached the finish line.

The cars reached the finish line three wide with Hunter missing first place by about 18 inches.  Despite missing first by such a close margin Hunter finished strong in the Heat and Feature giving him added momentum for future races. If Hunter continues to race like this there is no doubt we will see him in victory lane very soon!

The MitiGator And The Modern Athlete

9 08 2011

Athletes from amateur to the professional level go through intense training regiments to prepare for their respective sports. As football season nears players around the NFL and College begin their training camps in preparation for the coming season.

The training will undoubtedly be intense and exhausting testing the physical ability of every player. In baseball, professional ball players play 162 games a season. It’s a long grueling season that requires ample training and work during the off season and spring training. The time and training that these athletes go through to prepare for a season can be taxing on the body.

It’s amazing to see players like Brett Farve play into his forties surviving almost twenty years of brutal NFL play. Players in baseball, football, and other sports have also managed to play into to their late thirties and forties. One reason is because of the improvement in training and nutrition regiments that have helped prolong the careers of some of sports most talented athletes. Another reason for their prolonged careers is the advancement in sports equipment.

Materials such as the MitiGator by Sea Systems Group give much needed protection for players who train and play hard on a daily basis. Training and nutrition can only go so far. Players need high quality equipment that can prevent injury and improve performance. The MitiGator can achieve that delicate balance since it is lightweight, durable, tear resistant, while coming in various designs and applications. The Dog Days Of Summer

1 08 2011

Baseball great Ted Williams was known for taking batting practice tell he had blisters covering his hands. With all that practice it’s no wonder Williams is one of the greatest hitters of all time.  Since then ball players from little league to the professional level use batting gloves to avoid blisters. It’s rare to see a player up at the plate without them.

When taking swings at practice or during a game blisters and cuts can become an annoyance even when using gloves. Gloves have a short life span and can tear only after a few bats leaving the hands exposed to the bat’s handle.

Blisters and other hand injuries can affect a players swing leading to decreased performance at the plate.  Players try to ignore these blisters thinking it’s just part of the game thus pushing through the pain and practice tell they get their swing right. This approach is unnecessary when using the right kind of batting glove.

The MitiGator cushioning system developed by Sea Systems Group has a number of designs and thicknesses that can accommodate batting gloves. The MitiGator is resistant to cracking, rotting, and tearing making it durable under extreme conditions. MitiGator batting gloves can provide improved grip and performance while protecting the players hands during play.

The MitiGator can be applied to other baseball equipment including: baseball helmets,  catching equipment, cleat insoles, etc.  Athletes are always looking for an edge to put them over the top. MitiGator batting gloves can give professional hitters that needed edge to make solid contact and get on base.

The MitiGator™ Technology is an engineered cushioning system designed to protect people and equipment from these assaults and to allow them to continue to perform their jobs or enjoy their leisure time. The Proper Shoe Insoles For Running

26 07 2011

Running has become a popular way for millions of Americans to lose weight and get physically fit.  Being able to run several miles or more is a symbol of peak physical fitness.  However there are also many health problems that can arise from frequent cardio workouts such as running.

According to Runners World; “forty-two percent of all overuse injuries affect the knee-joint, and patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS), or simply ‘runners knee’ is the most common overuse injury of runners.”

Besides joint and knee problems, lower back pain has also been attributed to running.  Keep in mind that when you run, your foot is hitting hard pavement putting  stress on your joints. This can lead to inflammation as well as knee and back problems that can prohibit a runner from participating in future workouts.

One of the recommended ways of reducing injury is using shoe insoles that provide cushioning for your feet while reducing the impact a runner’s foot would receive while training.   Seas Group has developed shoe insoles using MitiGator technology that can greatly reduce whole body impact by as much as 60%. The MitiGator can also be used with other sports equipment such as baseball and football helmets, car racing seats, and batting or weight lifting gloves. Using the proper shoe insoles can make a difference between having a great workout or getting injured. Reducing the chance of injury can allow one to progress through a workout program uninterrupted leading to improved performance and a healthy physique.

The MitiGator And a Thankful Father

22 07 2011

Race car driving is a dangerous sport. From NASCAR to Bandolero racing, it’s a sport that’s not for the faint of heart. Due to the dangers of the sport safety has always been a concern for racing teams. We can all remember the crash of Dale Earnhardt back in 2001 that ended the life one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time.

Since then racing teams at all levels are taking extra steps to protect drivers in the event of a crash. When watching a race, you’ll see that drivers are at high risk of getting into a collision.  Time and time again we’ve seen horrific crashes that make you wonder how any driver can survive. As I’ve said racing is not for the faint of heart.

Hunter Richards and Hunter Richards Racing are aware of the danger that comes with racing.  This is why Hunter’s seat is equipped with the MitiGator cushioning system.  The MitiGator was put the to the test when Hunter crashed against a wall at Charlotte Motor Speedway about a month ago.

When safety crews arrived, they were stunned to find Hunter unharmed. When asked if he was hurt Hunter said, “no I ride on the MitiGator.”  Hunter’s father was so relieved and impressed by the MitiGator that he wrote a letter to Seas Group thanking us for protecting his son.

“As a Father I would like to thank you once more for what the MitiGator High Impact Cushioning System has done in keeping my son safe in his race car. Richardson Racing Products custom-built seat with the MitiGator High Impact Cushioning System installed allowed them to build us the best racing seat I have ever seen”

The MitiGator is designed for one purpose and that is to protect users and occupants from collisions and impacts.  From military to consumer use the main purpose of the MitiGator doesn’t change, only the way it’s applied. We’re happy to see that Hunter is safe and his father pleased with the MitiGator cushioning system. John Gibson Invited To Speak At Multi Craft Conference

6 07 2011

John Gibson is known by many to be a race car driver. However Mr. Gibson has branched out into other fields that have kept him busy while waiting for the 2011 Arca Racing Series to start.  For the past few years John was an employee with Sea Systems Group (SEAS), the developer of the MitiGator Cushioning System.

John’s job was to market the MitiGator through the use of social media such as blogging, Facebook, and other social media tools.  John recently left MitiGator however he has been asked to speak at the Multi- Agency Craft Conference (MACC) where he will discuss the benefits of the MitiGator in front of members of the Armed Forces community.

John is extremely thankful for having the opportunity to speak at the MACC conference. “I cannot begin to describe what it means to me to be asked by Rick and Barb McKinney to attend the MACC conference and speak on their behalf.”

I had the chance to interview John a while back while doing some social media work for Team Masse Realty Group. John was personable and was a fun interview as he described the excitement and danger of Arca racing.  Johns’ future is looking bright as he is set to have an exciting and eventful year.  Seas Group is lucky to have John represent them at the 2011 MACC conference.
